How It Works

The Knittworks system — explained in three steps

Most wall art is permanent. Once it is up, changing it means more holes, more decisions, more mess. Knittworks is built differently — the frame is permanent, the art is not.

Step 1 — Mount the frame once

The aluminium silicone-edge frame mounts on your wall using standard hardware — the same as hanging any framed picture. This is the only time you interact with the wall. It takes about 10–15 minutes and leaves a small number of mounting points that can be filled with white putty if you ever move.

Step 2 — Snap in your fabric print

Each Knittworks fabric print has a silicone bead sewn into its edge. Press the bead into the groove that runs around the inner edge of the frame, starting from one corner and working around. The fabric sits taut, flat, and perfectly presented — in about 30 seconds.

Step 3 — Swap whenever you want

To change the print, pull one corner of the fabric out of the groove and peel it back. The print comes away cleanly. Press your new print in. The wall remains exactly as it was. There is no limit to how many times you can do this — every Knittworks fabric print is compatible with every Knittworks frame of the same size.

Caring for your prints

Remove the fabric from the frame and machine wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh laundry bag. Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry. The waterproof inks hold their colour across multiple wash cycles. When dry, press back into the frame as normal.

Sizes

Frames and prints are available in four sizes: 12x18 inches, 18x24 inches, 24x36 inches, and 36x60 inches. All sizes are width x height. A single frame takes prints of the same size — one 18x24 frame takes any 18x24 print, indefinitely.

For renters

The frame requires a standard wall installation — identical to hanging a framed picture. This is not damage-free, but it is minimal: a small number of screw points at the frame's corners, which fill cleanly with white wall putty when you leave. Every print change after the initial installation happens without touching the wall again.

One installation. One set of holes. Unlimited art.
